Justin & Kelsey - Moody Engagement Session
I am in love with these engagement photos of Justin and Kelsey in the Salmon-Challis National Forest.
Kelsey knew she wanted pine trees, forest feel, that is exactly what she is planning for their fall wedding this year.
Think dark, moody, forest. All the rain we have been getting has really put a damper in "summer" photo sessions. If you live in the Salmon area you know how much rain we have been getting. It seems for every one sunny day we get, we get three rainy days.
Of course the day of their session it rained ALL DAY long. All day. We still pushed through because when it comes down to it, chances are we can get the session done in a timely matter and you probably really don't want to reschedule.
We picked a spot last minute since the original location was getting poured on. I really loved this location, I felt like it was a nice mixture of greenery and rocks without being too bright.
Both Kelsey and Justin came dressed to the nines and looked great. Staying right with their style and coming in all black. This is one thing that is important for your photo session, whether it is an engagement session, family session or senior photos, being comfortable is NUMBER one. If you are comfortable you will feel good and that is so necessary in the photo process.
I loved Kelsey's choices, she wore a beautiful black dress with lace details that highlighted her tattoos perfectly. We got so many different shots of these two and I just told them what to do. Like many clients they kind of almost freeze in front of the camera simply because they "don't know what to do."
I get that a lot. "What do I do with my hands?" is the most common question, or "I don't know how I should stand." And I get it. I help pose you and guide you through the process.
I had so much fun with these two and can't wait for their fall wedding.
