I got to do another extended family session + a cake smash all in one and it was AMAZING. 

I have been having some amazing morning sessions this year which has really been great with the afternoon heat. I met with the Wilcox family, so parents, their kids and their kids. It was really special because we even snuck in a cake smash session for little Quinn, it was her first birthday week! 

We did a morning session at Morgan Bar and it was really perfect! We walked around and snapped some great photos all together and the individual families. 

I really like making "grandma and grandpa" pose for a few photos just of them. These are fun because it has most likely been quite a few years that they have had professional photos done and do have them "pose." Usually they stand next to each other, wrapping their arms around another from the side and to me that's a big N-O. I love when they are interacting with each other, looking at one another and really being in the moment. 

While it still feels "weird" and sometimes awkward the results are always loved. And when your adult children are watching and helping to loosen you up - it really is fun! We got some great shots of everyone together. The session itself was a gift for their parents - so thoughtful. Are your parents always bugging you for new pictures to hang? 

It was clear that this family loves each other including the cousins. They all loved each other and it was so much fun. When Quinn finally got to get into her cake, everyone was excited. We did a plan cake decorated with fresh flowers - simple and so cute.
