I am convinced that if Ashley keeps booking family photos while they are home visiting, Matt may not come anymore. Even though he hates photos, he is always a good sport. I will pose him and I can him say, "this feels weird." I laugh every single time. And I appreciate him showing up and being there even though it isn't on his top 10 favorite things to do. 

But despite his dislike for family photos, Ashley still sneaks them in, once a year while visiting from Colorado. Last time I saw the family I am pretty sure it was around Thanksgiving time and of course - COLD. It was so cold on picture day and as usual Sophia and Emma pushed through and smiled and tried to "not look so cold." 

So a summer session is a nice change for 2021 while thi3er visit during Fourth of July. 

We roamed around made Matt suffer with photos while Sophia and Emma slowly started getting on each other's nerves and Ashley just hoping at least some of these photos are good - this is the definition of a family session. Siblings always tend to just be over it and each other by the end of it and I usually will ask if they like each other that day. Really. 

That is balance of being a photographer - I can't just stand there and expect for you know what to do, what I want you to do or instantly feel comfortable. I help with that. It is super awkward to have some random girl you may found on the internet now taking photos of you - I get it. So I help ease the tension, help you feel comfortable and totally encourage letting the kids "relax." 

I have seen Emma and Sophia a few times so that helps in easing their tension around me, and by the end of it they are running around searching for rocks and having fun at the photo session. 

We were lucky we got some photos next to river too and the sun wasn't too bright.
