Things I DO NOT want you to bring to your photo session
I tell you all the time what to bring to a session, what to do at a session and what to expect ALL THE TIME. So what do you NOT bring? There can't be that much right? I have three main things I want you to say NO to.
I know you may thinking no toys or stuffed animals, sippy cups, large hats, oversized clothes - I guess the list could go on and on but I am naming three things that aren't actual items.
As a family and senior photographer for the past eight years I have seen my fair share of "bad" things happen and big NO-NOs. And I have shared my secrets and tips on what to bring and how to make your session even better but I have seen my fair share of these things I don't want you to bring.
I have photographed plenty of couples who just had a fight, families who were all of the place, guys who were just rude and moms constantly asking if they looked okay - yeah all that and more I sure.
Insecurities
Stop worrying about what you look like when you're at the session. I'm not going to carry a mirror or let you see every photo to "make sure you look alright." - be in the moment. You look great and you know it. You may have put a lot of time and money into your outfits, hair, makeup and the session alone so the last thing you need to carry around is some insecurity during the session. Leave those at home.
Bad Attitudes
Leave those at home (or even in the car) really. We don't have time for bad attitudes at a session, perk up, you got this. I can't stress this enough but pre-plan prior to your session. What does this have to do with it? Well if you don't plan ahead you are going to feel rushed and probably won't be into at that point and guess what? Now you are in a bad mood. It is that easy. Bad attitudes can hinger the whole session. Shrug it off, pump yourself (and your kids) up and put your best foot forward.
Second Guessing Yourself
Don't second guess what you're doing. Be confident. I want you to be you and move how you want and would naturally. Does that mean I don't pose you? Don't stress - I will help pose you and guide you but I don't want you to overthink it. That may be the hardest part, I want you to walk and move your arms how you normally would and we will adjust from there. Confidence is key, right?
If you already have booked your spring or summer session - pre-plan and if you haven't booked yet - let's chat.
