Have you been debating on booking a family session?
I know you have been looking through my blogs and following updates on my social media feeds. What is stopping you from booking your own session? Do you have questions you want answered before taking the leap?
I compiled the top five questions I get asked as a portrait photographer. I answered the questions you have been wanting to ask all in one blog!
Top 5 Client Questions I Get Asked As A Portrait Photographer
1. How much do you cost?
Number one question - how much is this going to cost me? Of course you want to make sure that my packages are within your budget. I know this is tough and everyone wants a "good deal." While it can be tempting to go with the lowest-cost option, we both know that "cheap" isn't always "good." I will save you the boring details of determining my cost of doing business and setting my package prices but I will tell you that I know my clients appreciate the behind the scenes work and know that they are going to be comfortable with me in front of the camera and know they will have fun and always have great photos. They know I am worth it.
2. What happens next?
So you booked your session, signed your contract and paid your retainer - had a blast at your session and now you are anxious to see them. I am so excited for you to see your photos! My next step: sneak peeks. I will provide sneak peeks on my social media pages. (Don't worry you don't have to have them on social media, it's your choice.) But I post a blog, sneak peek photos and then you will receive a full gallery within two weeks where you will choose your favorite digital photos or purchase the entire gallery.
3. Can you make me skinnier? Or take away my wrinkles? What about my gray hair or his hat line?
I am a photographer. I do not have the secret to the fountain of youth even behind a computer. I provide light "photoshopping" but I don't change YOU. We are here to take photos of you and your family.
4. What is your style?
This is an important question especially if you are looking for a specific style. I like to think of myself as timeless, deep beautiful colors and genuine. I like to incorporate poses and different ideas and movement into my photography. I want some poses and I want some not so posed. If you are reading this - you are already on my website and can find more of my style here. When booking me you know you will get a consistent professional gallery.
5. We don't know how to pose, will you help us?
I get this a lot. Literally almost every single time - so you are not alone. There are certainly nerves going into a session on how you are going to look and how you are going to move your body. You may have practiced in the mirror or thought of how you want to stand. Every time you feel like you "want" try and control the situation and start thinking about how you are standing and where your hands are - let go. This is where you are going to trust me. I will help you in posing and positioning. I want you to feel comfortable in front of my camera and not stand there and think "what do I look like?" And don't overthink where to put your hands.
Insider Tip: Trust me on your location! What doesn't "look" pretty to you in the moment will photograph beautifully.
