Travis and Jessica Tie the Knot in Salmon, Idaho
Travis and Jessica got married at Sweet Water Hollow.
I sometimes experience short rain spurts during a wedding day. People do say rain on your wedding day is good luck. If you are from Salmon, you know we have had a rainy summer. This day was no different.
There was a really good rain storm just a few hours prior to the wedding. It was pouring, lightning, thunder. But in true Idaho weather, it soon passed, leaving blue skies and a blazing hot sun. I will admit, it was a lot of rain, and it does put you in worry-mode just a little.
Ani at Sweet Water Hollow had everything set up, tables, place settings and all so she quickly went into overdrive to preserve as much set-up as possible. She did, you would never know that there was a huge rain storm. It was so beautiful.
The tables had a beautiful mix of china at each place setting. The tables were so beautiful. Megan from Straight Outta the Oven made a beautiful cake with tasty cupcakes. They always look so good, she has the best attention to detail.
After dinner they hosted a money dance after their first dances. The money dance is always a good way to get guests to dance, while they pay to do it. Travis had the opportunity to dance with his groomsmen.
Jessica looked so beautiful, her dress fit her perfectly, like made for her! I love their portraits, they are so sweet and timeless. I really love when clients trust in me in where to take the photos and what is the best thing to do depending on the time of day and venue.
Jessica and Travis trusted me and we got some really beautiful portraits.

In this blog, we'll explore the reasons behind this superstition and why embracing rain can add a touch of enchantment to your special day.
Rain has long been associated with renewal and cleansing. Just as the raindrops wash away dirt and dust, it symbolizes the start of a fresh journey for the couple. Embracing rain on your wedding day can be seen as a metaphorical cleansing, washing away any negative energy and allowing you to start your married life with a clean slate.
Rainy weather on your wedding day can create a unique bonding experience for you and your partner. Sharing an umbrella, walking hand in hand under the raindrops, and seeking shelter together can create intimate and cherished memories. It's a reminder that marriage is about supporting each other through all of life's storms, both literal and metaphorical.
In many cultures, rain is associated with fertility and abundance. Just as rain nourishes the earth, it can be seen as a symbol of fertility and growth in your relationship. Rain on your wedding day can be interpreted as a positive omen, indicating a fruitful and prosperous marriage filled with love, joy, and the blossoming of new beginnings.
Rainy wedding days offer an opportunity for stunning and memorable photographs. Raindrops can add a touch of magic, reflecting light and creating a romantic atmosphere. With the right photographer and a sense of adventure, capturing the beauty of rain can result in truly remarkable and artistic images that will be cherished for a lifetime.
While it's natural to hope for clear skies on your wedding day, embracing rain can bring unexpected blessings and create a truly memorable experience. From the symbolism of cleansing and renewal to the unique bonding moments it can foster, rain has the potential to add an enchanting touch to your special day. So, if raindrops fall from the sky, consider it a stroke of luck and a beautiful chapter in the story of your love.
