Mason - 2022 Salmon High School Senior
Mason is a 2022 senior who will be graduating from Salmon High School this spring.
Mason was laid back and super easy to work with, actually all my senior male clients are. They are usually there will much convincing from their mothers but are there and ready to get it over with and will usually do whatever I want.
Mason was no exception. He was a delight and so nice to work with. He wanted some photo at the cliffs and then we headed to the Mark Sever Squire Field at the Salmon City Park. Mason has been playing baseball since he was five. As a senior in high school he is still playing.
He brought along a baseball bat and mitt plus his jersey and letterman jacket. Senior sessions is one of maybe three types of sessions you may have "props" for. Sports and hobby props are the best to show off who you are and what you love.
I have photographed track and field, football, rodeo, books, volleyball - a lot of different things. Which are so personal to that graduating senior, which is what makes senior portraits so special. Mason's was no different.
The cliffs are a highly requested spot for sessions. While gorgeous for all sessions it doesn't always work out for all. If I have a family of five with little kids the cliffs is probably one of the last places I would suggest. The cliffs is a great place for seniors though!
We got some shots up at the cliffs and it was so windy! This is one of the first sessions I didn't stress too much over the weather. I knew it was going to rain if not snow but it was suppose to break in time of our session - AND IT DID! I also didn't stress too much about the weather since it was male senior session, a lot less pressure and I don't have to worry about his hair blowing in the wind.
Speaking of hair . . . .
You may think this is kind of late for senior portraits. Well maybe, I do see a lot more senior guys in the spring, but Mason decided to change up his hair. Jennifer really had to plan the photos and we tried to schedule them as late as possible. Mason cut his hair for a yearbook prank and his mom has been patiently waiting for it to grow out to an acceptable overall length. Despite the hair growth he still wore a hat and they still look great!
I was happy he wanted to include baseball photos as well. I always have to be more creative when incorporating hobbies and sports especially with props like bats and mitts. The Mark Sever Squire Memorial Field is so well taken care of by the coaches and players. I am always impressed by it. We were able to take some photos in the Glen Neyman Memorial Dugouts.
Overall it was another great senior session in Salmon, Idaho.
