You may be planning a 2021 wedding or trying to pick up where you left off from your 2020 planned wedding and I have a feeling there are some things you wanted that you may be second guessing I put together a top eight list of 2021 wedding trends. I anticipate smaller weddings, some boho chic vibes and all together lots of love.
1. Traditions.
2021 is going to see more couple planning their weddings based on sentimental values rather that searching for the extravagant next big thing. Tradition will become popular again, as well as keeping the wedding theme close to home as people hone in on what really matters to them.
2. Intimacy and Smaller Weddings.
If 2020 taught us anything it is to keep those you love close. I anticipate a lot of weddings will limit their guest lists to cut own on numbers but also realizing you may not need a huge extravagant wedding. I wouldn't be surprised if more couples opted for super intimate weddings and limited receptions.
3. At Last.
At last you are getting married and the classic song by Etta James, At Last, will likely be a popular wedding song for first dances. The lyrics fit perfect with the having to postpone your wedding or just having to wait to get married during this time.
4. Weekday Weddings.
I anticipate seeing a lot more weekday weddings. With so many weddings postponed in 2020, there will be more demand for prime weekend dates this year. More couple will opt for weekday weddings. Some venues have a smaller discount for weekday services.
5. Local Handmade Crafters.
I think couples will try to use local and/or handmade crafters for designs and decor for their wedding day. We will see more personalization on items at the wedding. This will also help small businesses.
6. Sustainability.
As a society we have become more aware of our impact on our own environment. I would expect to see less paper invitations and more websites. I would expect to see more sustainable suppliers and more sustainable gifts for guests to take home.
7. Pastels.
Yes, in 2021 expect to see more pastel colors - pastel purples, blues and greens will be back this year. Hopefully the pretty pastels and not an 80s version of pastels.
8. Hand Sanitizer.
We will undoubtedly notice more hand sanitizers at weddings. At the 2020 weddings that were still able to happen, hand sanitizers were readily on hand, including hand washing stations and less "buffet" style dinners. I think people will be more COVID-19 cautious to help protect their guests. Don't be surprised if you see a lot of masks.
