This is Justin and Katie Small.

They have lived in Salmon for quite a few years now and own and operate Huckleberry Hollow. 

Huckleberry Hollow is a wedding/event venue in Salmon, Idaho. They also have a riverfront lodging for wedding parties, fisherman, hunters and tourists. If you are from Salmon you may already be familiar with this property, it's located in Baker. There is a beautiful pond, a bridge and some gorgeous trees - and Joe and Alice Kolman used to own it. 

It really is beautiful and have been lucky to be able to use this piece of property for several photo sessions and had the opportunity to photograph a wedding there last fall and it was PERFECT. 

There location is right on the river, right on the river. There are several apple trees, a cabin and a pond with some amazing willow trees. So of course their family photos needed to be at their place. I am actually closer to them in Baker at my new place so an easy five-minute drive for me. We got some great shots just in their backyard and down by the river. 

Sessions with kids always seem "hectic" just because . . . kids, ya know. But mid-session Katie's shoe randomly broke. Of course, perfect timing. Of all the times for her shoes to break - mid family photos? It was funny and we made it work. 

It was great to capture those beautiful purple lilacs, it always seem they die before I get to photograph any. They are so gorgeous.
