The Marcus Family - Salmon, Idaho
It was so great to see the Marcus family again this year!
Devin and Sarah's little boys, Sawyer and Finley have certainly grown over the past year since I have seen them last.
Little ones are always unpredictable, crazy right? Being a family photographer for the past eight years I have learned that I can't force the kids to do anything and the more I push the more everyone stresses out. Yes, even the children. So what's my secret?
Well I can't tell you that but I can tell you that I like to let kids get used to me having a camera and explore, especially if you have young ones.
Sawyer and Finley were no different. Sawyer is a curious little guy and the key was to keep him moving, explore things he wanted to explore and be ready. Finley is still young enough where he can be anywhere but still wants to explore.
Explore we did and we walked around tried different poses and places for the kids. It was fun and family sessions with young ones always go by super fast because we are on the move and getting those shots as we go so it feels like we are just walking around. Parents may not always feel that way once it's over.
Sarah did really want to try and get some flowers. I did find a small patch of flowers that worked. I do get a lot of requests for flowers and sometimes they are hard because they are too far from where the family wants to travel or they aren't blooming. Simply missing the window.
We lucked out with this cute little yellow patch, what are those? If you know tell me in the comments!
I love when sessions aren't as posed and more organic and genuine like these. We all have those perfectly posed pictures in our head but these are great too!
One photo has consistently wanted is a photo of just the boy, Sawyer and Finley to be specific. Like any day it is hit or miss but we got some great photos of these two together! I cannot wait until you see it.
