Johnna, Jayda & Kays
My favorite people.
Seriously though I have known Johnna for more than 20 years. That seems so long ago. Twenty years. That seems like so long but it has truly gone by so fast.
Twenty-one years ago, Johnna was a child and I was a teenager. Our friendship has grown over time and she is now more like a sister. Well she is my sister from another mister. Now 21 years later we both have children and I love nothing more than celebrating her and her wonderful children.
Johnna and Jayda were my first "test dummies" when it came to professional photography. When Jayda was six months old I loved to take photos of her and her little gummy smile. Now she's a teenager and "grown up." Not so toothless anymore and gorgeous. She is stunning.
When Jayda was still little, Johnna and I would drive around and find random spots to take mommy and me photos. I included some below.
Now Kays, this little cowboy is a spitfire.
He loves so much but is loved even more. He is the sweetest, most smiley little dude who always finds a snack, even when they are hiding. He is so much and of course a little cowboy. He was sporting his cowboy hat and buckle. Pretty snazzy, huh?
Now there is a sweet spot of knowing the children at the children and not knowing. In one hand I am a stranger, so they aren't as comfortable or relaxed - something we try and combat during the session and help them relax. Then there are the kids, that KNOW me. Meet Kays.
Sometimes when the kids know me, they just don't care what we are doing, they think I am there just to hang out with mom and that this isn't actually "work" for me.
So Kays ran, Jayda played with him and Johnna got some short kisses.
