Ben and Sierra say I Do at Twin Peaks
Sierra and Ben's wedding at Twin Peaks Guest Ranch was a day to remember. As an East Idaho photographer, I have been fortunate to capture beautiful moments, but their wedding had a special touch that made it truly unique. From the moment I arrived at Twin Peaks Guest Ranch, I could feel the charm of the venue. Nestled in the scenic hills of Lemhi County, the ranch offers breathtaking views that made a stunning backdrop for this unforgettable wedding day.
Sierra started her morning in the cozy bridal suite at Twin Peaks Guest Ranch, a perfect place for her and her bridal party to prepare for the day. The ranch is ideal for weddings, offering rooms for the bridal party to get ready, making it easier to relax and enjoy every moment leading up to the ceremony. Sierra chose gorgeous fall colors for her bridesmaids' dresses, which complemented the rustic beauty of the ranch and the season. As an Idaho wedding photographer, I love when couples infuse their day with thoughtful details that reflect their style.
One of the most striking features of Sierra’s bridal ensemble was her exquisite turquoise jewelry. The set was custom-designed by Lacey French of Crazy Hoof Silver, an Idaho artist known for her incredible craftsmanship. Sierra had spotted Lacey’s work at a local Farmer’s Market and fell in love with one of her pieces. She took a photo of it and later reached out to Lacey to create a custom bridal set for her special day. The final product—a stunning collection including earrings, a necklace, and a hairpiece—added a unique touch of elegance to Sierra’s look. As a photographer, I couldn’t wait to capture these delicate details in the morning light, especially since detail shots are one of my favorite parts of any wedding.
Sierra and Ben chose to keep tradition alive by not seeing each other before the ceremony. The moment they first laid eyes on each other as Sierra’s father walked her down the aisle was incredibly emotional. The ceremony took place against the panoramic views of Lemhi County’s rolling hills, an absolutely picturesque setting for a wedding in Idaho. With the sun gently lighting the hillside, it felt as if nature itself was celebrating their love.
I always admire couples who add personal and creative twists to their wedding day. Sierra and Ben decided to forgo a traditional ring bearer. Instead, they taped their wedding rings under a chair in the audience, and the guest who unknowingly sat in that chair became their honorary ring bearer! It was a fun and memorable way to engage their guests, adding a layer of surprise and laughter to the ceremony.
Their reception was equally thoughtful, with charming touches that made it feel intimate and personal. The couple handed out seed packets as favors, which also doubled as a way for guests to find their tables. Each table number was marked by a photo of Ben and Sierra at that age—for example, table one had baby pictures of each of them when they were one year old. This clever idea sparked conversation and made everyone feel connected to their love story.
When it came to the menu, the couple opted for comfort food that everyone enjoyed—lasagna and salad were served to their guests. I also loved that they had a photo booth for everyone to enjoy, and instead of a traditional guest book, guests signed a large Yeti cooler! This was such a fun, practical, and meaningful keepsake for Ben and Sierra to remember their special day.
The property at Twin Peaks Guest Ranch provided endless opportunities for beautiful photos. From wide-open fields to rustic fences, it was the perfect place to capture the newlyweds in their element. We even included a horse in some of the photos, which added to the country feel of their wedding. Every moment spent with Sierra and Ben was filled with love, laughter, and a genuine connection to each other.
It was an honor to be a part of such a wonderful day, and I’m always reminded of why I love being an Idaho wedding photographer. Couples like Sierra and Ben, who infuse their personality into every detail, make my job as a photographer so rewarding. Twin Peaks Guest Ranch truly was the perfect venue for their love story, and I can’t wait to return to this beautiful Idaho gem to capture more unforgettable moments.
