I have known Johnna for 20 years now. I first met her when she was just 8 years old. (That seems so crazy to think about) I've watched her run barrels at dozens of rodeos, I've watched her raise the sweetest soul, her daughter Jayda and I have personally experienced her kind and loving heart. Johnna has always been the most genuine, caring person I know. She is such a strong woman - a loving mother, caring sister and now a truly happy wife.
When Johnna text me that Joel proposed to her, it was like all the pieces have finally aligned. See Johnna and Joel seems to just fit. Maybe it is their love of horses and rodeos, his ability to make Johnna truly belly laugh nearly every 10 minutes or his genuine love and care for Jayda - but they fit.
They are the most fun couples to be around. Joel is a pretty funny guy, and frankly knows it. Their wedding was no different.
The two of them exchanged their hand written vows surrounded by 40 of their closest family and friends among the pines trees - Johnna's favorite. They set up the sweet ceremony area of Bobcat Gulch and it was just perfect - well hot but that's okay.
Their unique arch stood with the pine trees behind, their bridal party made their way down included Jayda as a junior bridesmaid and Joel's brother Greg as a junior groomsman. Johnna's niece, Quinn tossed the flowers over her should down the aisle. The flowers traveled here from Boise, Johnna's grandma took them from the flowers in her garden. So sweet right?
Joel and Johnna professed their love to one another and included a sand ceremony making their family of three - one.
With their quaint ceremony their reception followed at Sweet Water Hollow. There their guests welcomed them and their bridal party. They ate their hearts out at the Taco Wagon, shared a sweet slice of strawberry cheesecake and drinks, if you didn't attend - you really missed out.
Johnna looked so gorgeous in her lace dress among her best of friends who are there for her no matter what. Joel and the boys looked handsome in their jackets and cowboy hats - of course.
It was such a beautiful day - and night. I am just so happy I got to be apart of this special day with one of my most favorite people in the world and with someone who makes her so incredibly happy all the time.
