2022 Prom - Salmon High School
April marks the month for prom for a lot of high schools and Salmon is not different. I offer formal portraits for prom and/or homecoming depending on my schedule and availability. It is always something and try and offer!
This year I was able to provide prom portraits again to some great teenagers, and parents.
Prom minis are always interesting, sometimes parents show up, sometimes they don't. If parents show up the teens are just a little more uncomfortable. If the teens are exchanging a corsage and boutonniere they usually have no idea how to put them on or what side - insert a wedding photographer, me, who gets asked this question at 98% of the weddings I photograph.
So what's the answer - LEFT. The boutonniere is to be worn on the left lapel and a wrist corsage should also be worn on the left wrist.
These types of portraits are fun because I usually get really genuine smiles and some fun photos of the teens dressed up, which happens maybe three times a year. It's fun. I remember being in high school and taking awkward prom photos. We always just did it in the back yard or wherever really.
What's great about me taking your photo is I'm a pro but also I promise you will feel comfortable and I will not tell you, you are smiling wrong. Less stress on you and mom. Really.
Thank you to all the great parents who book and show up and the wonderful teens who are so nice and well mannered.
