Maddie is Graduating from ISU
Celebrating Maddie’s Graduation from Idaho State University
Maddie is officially a college graduate! She’s earned her degree in psychology from Idaho State University, and I couldn’t be more proud of her. Watching someone grow and succeed is always an honor—but getting to photograph that journey along the way? That’s something truly special.
Over the years, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had Maddie in front of my camera. She’s been part of so many sessions—each one filled with her signature joy, humor, and creativity. This graduation session was no different. It felt like another beautiful chapter in a story we’ve been telling together through photos.
Graduation sessions are such a powerful way to mark a major life milestone. They're more than just cap-and-gown portraits—they’re a celebration of years of hard work, long nights of studying, personal growth, and the excitement of what comes next. Whether it’s a high school grad or a college senior, capturing this moment in time is one of my favorite things to do. There’s a special kind of pride that radiates from graduates, and Maddie had it in full force.
As always, Maddie came to the session ready with a vision and a willingness to have fun. She brought along some playful props, and of course, her cap and gown. Her bright smile and contagious laugh made the entire shoot fly by. We spent most of the time giggling between shots—and yet, somehow, still created some of the most stunning images.
What I love about working with Maddie is her adventurous spirit. She trusts the process and is always game for something a little outside the box if it means getting a good photo. At one point during the session, I felt a pull to try a new spot—a different perspective that I thought would be perfect. I mentioned it to her, and without hesitation, she was in. Even though she’s not a fan of heights, Maddie climbed up and struck a pose like a pro. That moment captured so much more than a pretty picture—it was a testament to her courage and trust.
This session was full of laughter, light, and a little bit of risk-taking. But more than that, it was a celebration of everything Maddie has accomplished and all the amazing things ahead of her. She’s not just a beautiful person on the outside—she’s thoughtful, kind, and incredibly driven. I know she’s going to make a difference in the world, and I can’t wait to see where life takes her next.
Congratulations, Maddie. You did it! And I’m so glad I got to be part of your journey.
