Golden Moments with the Alvarado Family: A Perfect Fall Family Session

Photographing families with young kids is one of those challenging yet incredibly rewarding experiences that fills my heart and camera with pure joy. Recently, I had the privilege of visiting the Alvarado family at their beautiful home near Williams Lake. This was not your typical family photo session spot—their property is dotted with grand, beautiful trees, and the timing was just right to capture the golden hues of fall. As the leaves shimmered like gold in the sunlight, we dove into a lively, memorable session with Nick, Rachel, and their three young children.

When it comes to family sessions with little ones, there’s an undeniable energy. As a photographer, I find myself pulled in multiple directions, just like parents are. Capturing those fleeting moments can be tricky, especially when you’re not only trying to get the kids to look at the camera but also hoping for genuine smiles from everyone—including mom and dad! There’s something so authentic about those little glances, shared laughter, and even the chaos that ensues when everyone’s trying to stay focused, but that’s the beauty of family life.

Nick and Rachel handled it all like pros. Watching them keep up with their little ones while finding moments to smile and connect with each other was inspiring. It’s no small feat to juggle three kids in a photo session, yet they managed to make it feel effortless.
