I have to brag about my "assistant."
This is my son Cooper. A curious seven-year-old boy who loves superheroes, being silly and asks way to serious questions more often than not. He asks quite often to go to photo sessions with me and I try and let him come when he can. He came on a photo session with me recently and carried my step stool.
He complains a lot but always makes me and the clients laugh.
He did more sitting on the step stool then he did carry it for me but made a great director from his seat.
He showed off his impressive dance moves to make my clients laugh. He has that down pat.
We have pretty much been together every single day since March, not that I am counting but school is calling. Some days were are at one another's throat, over each other, nothing left to do but patiently wait for life to be "normal" again.
But I have appreciated our "extra" time together. When we got home, Cooper had me laughing. It's like that is his super power. He knows how to make you laugh, cheer you up, give you a big hug just because. He really is incredibly sweet.
I appreciate that he even wants to go with me.
Who really does want to lug around a step stool and volunteer to do so? Cooper will sometimes use by older Nikon and take photos with me at sessions but he still didn't want to, he just wanted to go.
When we were leaving he told me next time, he should get paid. And he's right. So I took whatever cash I had in my wallet and gave to him.
He earned it.
